Welcome back to News on News— sort of. We’d left you at the break w/ promises that, together, we’d finish reviewing Armand’s valuation of @kenthecowboy_’s “Zizian Facts” Google Doc. We have a confession to make.
During the break, our phone died; &, bored out of our skull, we read the rest of Armand’s letter w/out you 😬
The long & short of it is: Ken’s doc doesn’t have much more that we want to feature here.
It quotes from more news sources (NS) than we’d expected— we’d expected mostly original interviews. We’ve covered virtually all that his NS cover; but Armand is careful to say that these NS may add value for many readers, & we can’t argue w/ that. They give a good overview of what the press, writ large, has been up to— for better or for worse.
On the other hand, Armand notes that Ken’s doc is an ongoing project: it includes many sources that just came out this month. This means that Ken’s admiration of Evan Ratliff’s “narrative experience” is current, which Armand will almost certainly deduct points over 😔
Other than that, we’ll just run thru the high points of Armand’s evaluation.

#1. From Ken’s interview w/ the entity, we learn that Somni, prior to the Vallejo shooting/stabbing, was so “spooked” by Lind that she bought a flak jacket!
According to the entity, the only reason Somni survived being shot by Lind is that she was wearing a bulletproof vest!
It also notes that it owns a katana, & so is “very aware of exactly how lethal it is… if they did get the drop on him, then why did he survive to retaliate?” This is an excellent point! We, katanaless, had never thought of it before.

#2. Ken claims to have looked into some of @aflowerbynoothername’s claims, & Armand puts a p. high value on his findings.
If it were up to us, & not Armand, we’d gripe abt Ken’s framing of @AFBNON as “a pro-zizian standpoint”— is that where the discourse has gotten to? If you question the official narrative, are you de facto “pro-zizian”
We aren’t saying @AFBNON is “pro-Lind”; we're just saying this kind of imposed partisan rigidity doesn’t sit right w/ us.
We can ofc imagine many of you bursting out: “You, Drosselmeyer, are highly partisan! You are yourself ‘pro-zizian’!”
We see what you mean— in that we chronically fight w/ the press, distrust what the state has to say, & believe there’s value in treating Ziz & friends as primary sources in their own story. Still, at no point did we sit down & think, “time to make a pro-zizian site!”
We don’t want to throw up our hands & say, “it’s not our fault! It’s where the data leads us!” That feels slippery, even tho that is, more or less, how it panned out. We just don’t know who it helps or what truth it reveals to divide ppl into camps.
Under this framework, we suppose that we & Ken are in separate but not necessarily opposing camps. We may scuffle, but may still lay down our arms to trade resources. Is this a useful way to imagine our current activities? We don’t feel it enriches our life; we have not noticed its absence before; we don’t, so far, feel markedly impoverished by it either— so we are back to asking: what's the point of it?

Anyway, as a sign of our goodwill towards Ken, we will happily take from his proffered wares 😌
We are enthused to see that he agrees w/ @AFBNON’s major points. We are even enthused to see that he disputes this claim:
Lind was angry that Emma and her friends intended to take him to court, and had filed paperwork to that effect.
Ken says:
There’s no record of any lawsuit being filed in 2022 with any of the zizians as plaintiffs and with Curt Lind as a defendant. Per the superior court of solano county california… The only possibility of the above statement being true is that they filed incorrectly and it was thrown out.
This is useful info!

#3: we’re melting, melting, melting… in more lye allegations
This is v. strange. This is what Lind has to say:
And they got those people to kill their parents, and they sent them an email, I think it was an email? But they sent them some kind of a communication that was available to the public later on, that told them how to mix these chemicals together and set it up so that they could put their parents in this boiling pot. And in three hours they'd be liquid. And they killed their parents, but they never did get to that point. They got caught and they're in jail now.
Now, the same exact chemicals that they talked about killing those people's parents with, and the same set up with a pot they had in one of their trucks here.
All I know is that we found the pot, we found the chemicals, and one of them, my son, came almost immediately, and he was here while I was in the hospital. And one of them, he caught one of them running, trying to run away with those chemicals.
***
Ok. If we may speculate, we think Lind is claiming:
Ziz told Jamie to kill their parents. Ziz sent Jamie a message that is now publicly-available, in which Ziz teaches Jamie how to mix chemicals together in a boiling pot, in order to dissolve bodies w/in 3 hours. Jamie killed their parents, but wasn’t able to dissolve them. Jamie got caught & jailed instead. Emma & Somni owned the same chemicals, & the same kind of large pot. They kept both in their box trucks. I & some others found the pot & chemicals. One of their associates tried to run away w/ the chemicals, but my son caught them.

😬😬😬 This first statement, to our knowledge, is untrue. As is this 2nd statement. He may be referencing Jamie’s claim that Ziz suggested they kill Alice— ftr, Jamie has since retracted this claim.
Statement #3 hinges on #2, so we’ll skip it. Statement #4 is false: Jamie has no murder charges, & was never jailed for anything involving their parents’ murders. To his credit, Lind may be thinking of Ziz’s imprisonment— which was on misdemeanor charges, not murder charges.
Statements #5-8 are largely New News to us. This is the first we’ve heard of:
a) a boiling pot;
b) that is big enough to fit a body in;
c) yet small enough to keep in one’s box truck abode.
We’ve ofc heard of Lind &/or friends finding lye, but lye is not explicitly named here: maybe it was tip-of-the-tongue for him; maybe he was unfamiliar w/ it. We are no chemist either— which also means that we dk if lye typically comes pre-mixed, or if one has to manually mix a few diff. chemicals, which is what it sounds like from Lind’s description.
We do not, at present, have the courage to google, “how do you buy or mix the kind of lye that can dissolve a body?” Or, “how big of a pot do you need to liquify a body in?” Or, “if you’re chemically-liquifying a body in a pot, how do you heat that up? Over a fire? Over a bunsen burner? Can you do it in your box truck, or will it off-gas poisonous fumes?”
Finally, statement #8 is also New News. We have never heard of this chemical-nabbing associate, or of their interception.
Ken then deepens our confusion by adding:
this may refer to the lye in the truck that his bodyguard claims he found
Who is Lind’s bodyguard? We have never heard of this person before, & Ken provides no link. Frantic searching thru his doc finally pulls up a name: Jon Jenkins. He is a neighbor who “acted as an armed body guard after the first alleged attack”, according to the SF Chronicle. We may have missed out on Jon bc the SFC is so paywalled that it inspired “PAYWALLED” on our bingo card.
According to SFC:
[Jon] helped clean out the box trucks, which were cluttered with medical equipment — including needles and an ultrasound machine — and containers of lye.
Is Jon our lye & ultrasound patient zero? Are those needles interchangeable w/ the scalpels mentioned elsewhere? If not: could they be for the girls’ HRT? If so: they are the first sense-making possession we have seen in all this time. Also: how are needles relevant to an alleged murder plot? Lind was not stabbed w/ needles; they are perfectly legal to own, &, incidentally, hard to dispose of safely.
W/ all due respect to Ken, we have to add here that we laughed & laughed & laughed at his v. thorough & sincere investigation into whether the girls may have been using the ultrasound machine to take their estrogen 😭 He spoke w/ 2 ultrasound techs abt this, before twitter put him out of his misery & confirmed that, no, injection is the most popular method of administration. 🥲 Ken may not like us, but we really like Ken in this moment. This case has sent us spiraling down many rabbit-holes ourself.

We know we said that this would be a quick run-thru, but after all these items have been dumped on our doorstep, we need a breather. We will be back in 15, & will continue running thru… whatever this case produces next.
