Here on Strange New Vegan Death Cult Murders, we’ve have had some sharp words for the press of late. Why? What are the stakes in this?
Who cares if our ~favs~ get somewhat mangled in the telling? Isn’t that always the problem— when you get in too deep
Oh we wish that it were.
In answer to this q., let’s introduce a piece of ✨New News✨, which we had coyly been saving for later.
On March 14th, 2025, Somni got brought into court for a hearing. Immediately upon walking thru the door, she said: “This is a show trial to coordinate the genocide of transgender people!”
She tussled with officers, & was removed; then brought back in a wheelchair, from which she kept repeating: “This is a show trial to coordinate the genocide of transgender people!”
The court reporter noted that Somni’s “noncooperation with the court is almost commonplace at this point”, & described Judge Ellis as “calm” when he replied: “Ms. Leatham, I want to have you present, but I can’t have you interrupting the court.”
Somni was undeterred. Judge Ellis finally gave the order for her to be put in an “isolation room” adjacent to the courtroom. Nonetheless, “her chant could be faintly heard for the rest of the hearing.”
“Apparently,” said Judge Ellis, “the audio [in the room] works— because I can still hear Ms. Leatham.”*
*The article goes on to call Ziz’s “ideas on… gender” “radical”— & “rigorous”; but we don’t think they meant this as a compliment!

We are so proud of Somni in this moment.
Just a month ago— when we’d first caught wind of our cabal— we might have viewed her statement differently: as extreme, troublesome, & extremely troubled.
Now, after being up to our noses in news reports on this case— & trying to be up to our noses in facts abt this case— we ofc feel Somni’s words are extremely troubling— but they do not sound extremist, nor like the product of a troubled mind.
How we wish they did.
It’s a hard question to bear in mind— “Is this a show trial to coordinate the genocide of transgender people?” But after an evening of somber consultation w/ our v. wise gf, we’ve mutually agreed that it’s good practice to believe women’s prophecies.
Such horrors may not hit our doorsteps tomorrow, next week, next year— but, buried under this cultural moment’s venom, vitriol, & oh-so-many erasures is the q.: if you’d rather a group of people not exist, how do you plan on achieving that? Our present cultural moment carries exterminationist undertones— but is, thus far, keeping the velvet gloves on as it does so.

We plan on writing Somni directly, to tell her how proud we are of her, & to tell her that we hope Judge Ellis can still hear her announcement ringing in his ears. If you would like to write Somni too, here is her current contact info.
And here, for good measure, is Ziz’s contact info...
